How do i get wavy hair (like beachy waves) if my hair is really straight?

i do have a curling iron, its 1". and i have herbal essences curl boosting mousse or something like that. how can i get wavy hair?

instructions on how to use the curling iron please!! when i use it i always get like bouncy loose curls...not waves. step by step instructions pleeeeeeeeease!

any other ways you know of to get wavy hair w/o the curling iron too

Just curl it like you normally would but run your fingers through the curls to loosen them up and maybe even brush them out or sleep on them.

i don't personally like this style ON ME not saying it will look bad on you but you can get an iorn to make waves, and not curls. and one other think, if you have CURL boosting mousse, chances are that you're gonna get CURLS

What you need to do is WRAP the hair around the curling iron in a spiral like fasion, you DONT wanna look like Shirley Temple. Take larger sections or a bigger wave or smaller for a deep wave. Here is a video of how to do it on YouTube...check it out...

When I use a curling iron it only make my hair curly, so I don't like to use one.

I suggest you do any of the following:

1) Take a shower at night. Wait til your hair is just a little damp.Then, apply mousse in your hair and braid. Sleep with the braids. When you wake up in the morning, your hair is wavy. Finger comb and apply hairspray if you wish.

2) Buy a sea salt water spray and scrunch your hair with it.

3) Buy a wave enhancing spray or shampoo.

4) Buy rollers to put in you hair.

5) Use your straightener and do exactly what the video says.

First wet your hair, so it's damp but not completely wet. Then you put gel through it, put curl volumizing mousse, then hairspray.

most people buy bumble %26amp; bumble surf spray to get relaxed beachy waves. however that tends to be expensive. i just mix sea salt and water together at home and put it in a spray bottle, and there you go. it's basically the same thing, just cheaper. it works really well too. i recommend after you get out of the shower, towel dry your hair first. then spray it with the sea salt mixture and scrunch it and let it dry naturally. hope this works!
