How do i semi-curl my hair like the celebrities do?

i have layered, very fine/thin hair which doesnt hold a curl at all. how can i get portions of my hair to curl or be wavy like celebrities wear now? i try to leave the longest layer straight but the "curly" parts never stay curled, no matter how much i hairspray. help!

Make sure your hair is at least one day dirty. Soft, clean hair won't hold curl as well. Apply a mousse to your roots and blow dry (with a diffuser if you have one. This will give you all the heat but not so much air. That will help do away with frizz.) Next, either use a curling iron or hot rollers and some type of curl product (your choice depending on your hair type) My best tip is to let the curl cool completely before taking it out of the roller or if you use a curling iron, clip the curl after you release it from the iron so it stays intact until cooled. This will make your curls stay much longer. Finish with a flexible hold hairspray and finger comb through. I know this sounds like a lot of work but it's really not. I just got very discriptive!)

First, scrunch when you dry. Then, put in about 6-8 random curls with a large iron. DO NOT comb or brush. Spray. Flip upside down and use your hands and fingers to "muss" the curls up. Flip back up and use your fingers and spray to touch up spots. This style is great! I ALWAYS get compliments on it and it's really easy once you get the hang of it.

instead of using a curling iron, blow dry your hair after you get out of the shower and then put (forgot what they were called) curling rolls in your hair instead, dont put it up all the way to the root either only do it half way and put little amounts of hairspray in your hair when the curling rolls are in there.

Because your hair is fine you'll have to use a better product than just hairspray. Work a texturizing paste and mousse into your hair when it's damp and dry upside down so that you get some body. Instead of a curling iron, use hot rollers and leave them in for 20 mins. Instead of brushing out, use your fingers to pull the curls together. Spray well and let dry before touching again.
